# Accreditations ledger

> The trade bodies, schemes and awards behind a builder, an electrician or a clinic, set as a ledger of six ruled cells. Each cell opens on a short wordmark set in type on a solid plate, then the body's full name, one line on what it inspects or approves, and a ruled foot carrying the member number, registration or year you can check. A display heading and a short paragraph on how to verify sit above. No logo files: every mark is type you edit. States no colour and no font of its own.

### Ledger (the default)

Identical markup in every theme.

Your base ground and contrast type; the wordmarks are inverted on contrast plates and every cell is closed by currentColor rules.

### Bone and brick

This variation states its own colours and states its own type: identical in every theme.

A builder's look: states warm bone, near-black type and rules, and the wordmark plates and member numbers in brick red, with Georgia names over Arial.

## The signature moment: every mark closes on a number you can check

**Each cell runs from a short wordmark on a solid plate down to a ruled foot
holding the member number, the registration or the year.** The number is set
as large as the body's name, `clamp(1.25rem, 1.6vw, 1.5rem)`, so the cell
reads as a claim and its receipt rather than as a badge wall. The cells are
closed on every side by a single hairline (each cell draws its top and left,
the ledger its right and bottom), and each foot's rule runs the full width of
its cell and sits at the cell's bottom whatever the name wraps to, so the feet
of a row line up into one continuous rule. Six cells read as one ruled record.
It survives colourlessness because it is rule and repetition, not colour.

## What it inherits from your theme

- The ground is `base` and all type is `contrast`, each a two-rung chain, at
  4.5:1 or better in the stock themes.
- The wordmark plates invert: `contrast` ground, `base` text.
- The label starts on `role-label` and falls through to `contrast`; the rules
  are `currentColor`.
- The heading is off the type ladder on purpose, a bare
  `clamp(2.5rem, 5vw, 4.75rem)`. Names and numbers are the second mass; the
  descriptions take `medium`. The typeface is your theme's.

## What it decides for itself

- The ledger is a grid with a 20rem minimum column and no column count: three
  across on a desktop, two on a tablet, one on a phone. Six cells fill every
  row at each of those.
- The marks are type, not logo files, so there is nothing to crop and no real
  body's logo is imitated. Use a body's own mark only where its rules allow.

## The Styled look

`bone-and-brick` states warm bone `#f2ede4`, near-black `#1f1c19` type and
rules, and the wordmark plates and numbers in brick red `#9c3b22` (5.9:1 on
the bone), with Georgia names and heading over Arial. It is for a builder or
a heating engineer.

## What to change first

The six bodies: the wordmark, the name, the line on what it covers, and the
number with its label. Keep six, or three, so the rows stay full.
