# CTA RSVP reply card

## The signature moment: the card tells you what to write before you open the form

**A double-ruled card centred on the page: "Kindly reply by" over the date at
display size, then "What we need from you" as three numbered lines with
italic numerals (who is coming, anything you cannot eat and your menu
choices, one song), then the two ways to reply.** Nothing on the card looks
clickable except the two links: no fake inputs, no drawn boxes. Beside the
card on a wide screen, a ruled note names who to ask; on a phone it follows
the card.

## What it inherits from your theme

- **Typeface.** The base states no font family.
- **Palette.** Your `base` ground and `contrast` text. The card tries
  `role-plate` and `role-plate-text`; both rules of the double border and the
  note's rule try `role-rule`; labels try `role-label`; all fall back to
  `base` and `contrast`.
- **Buttons.** Your theme's button with a stated padding, beside an
  underlined email link in the text colour.

## What it decides for itself

- **The date.** A display size off the ladder, about 40px on a phone and 64px
  from 1280 up, because the date is the headline.
- **The card.** 36rem wide on a wide screen, the full width less the gutter on
  a phone; the double rule is two nested bordered groups 0.625rem apart.

## What to change first

Core WordPress has no form block and the pattern ships no script, so it
collects nothing itself: it is the reply card and two doors to a reply you
own.

1. **The date** in the headline.
2. **The three prompts.** Keep them in step with the questions on your form.
3. **The "Reply online" link.** It points at `#rsvp-form`. Either put a form
   block from a form plugin (WPForms, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, Jetpack
   Forms) after this pattern and give it the HTML anchor `rsvp-form`, or
   change the link to your form's page, or to a Google Form, Tally or Typeform
   link.
4. **The email link.** It opens a new email to `rsvp@nellandsam.co.uk` with the
   subject and the three questions already in the body. Edit the address, and
   keep the `subject=` and `body=` parts if you want replies to arrive in the
   same shape.
5. **Who to ask**, and the `tel:` link on the phone number (01632 960 219 is a
   reserved example number).

## The Vow look

Didot at 400 (Bodoni MT, Hoefler Text, Baskerville, Times New Roman, serif),
body, labels and buttons Gill Sans (Seravek, Trebuchet MS, sans-serif). Cards
and buttons are square; the primary button is a filled midnight rectangle, the
secondary an underlined peony link. Every text pair is measured on the ground
it is painted on. Take the base for your theme's colours, or the look's **Use
my theme** chip.

## Notes

- Core blocks only: group, heading, paragraph, separator, buttons, button. No
  plugin, nothing to keep updated.
- The root group sets headings and links to `currentColor`, so every heading,
  paragraph and link inherits the group's text colour in any theme.
