# Team numbered profiles

> Three numbered profiles set oversized index marks beside portraits and focused biographies on an inverted section ground. Example portraits are included, generated and nobody real; replace them with photographs of your own people. Inherits your theme’s palette and typeface. Opens with the Dark design. Select Section colours to enable Inherit section and follow the surrounding section palette.

## The signature moment: large index numbers anchor three portrait essays

Each horizontal essay begins with a large index number, then a square portrait, then a wider text column. The number and top rule mark the start of a profile before the reader reaches the face. The default Dark design inverts the theme’s base and contrast pair; the Section colours variant lets the surrounding section supply those colours.

## What the buyer gets

Three numbered profiles set oversized index marks beside portraits and focused biographies on an inverted section ground. The section works without the companion plugin. Replace the example people, roles and copy directly in the block editor.

## What it inherits from your theme

The typeface, heading treatment and spacing scale belong to the host theme. Every colour uses a fallback chain. The default Dark design inverts base and contrast. The Section colours variant uses base and contrast in their ordinary roles. Body copy targets 4.5:1 contrast; large display text has a 3:1 minimum. WordPress render checks measure the actual theme colours.

## Display type

Section headings use the x-large rung, names use large, and body copy uses medium, all with clamp fallbacks. Labels use a 0.875rem to 1rem clamp and 1.4 line height. The index numbers deliberately use a 4rem to 9rem display clamp because their scale anchors the composition.

## Responsive composition

Core columns stack below WordPress’s mobile breakpoint. Grid layouts use minimum widths and reduce their column count as space narrows. Each person’s photograph and name stay grouped. Review the full section at 1920, 1280, 820 and 390 pixels in serif and sans themes.

## What you change first

Replace the portraits, names, roles and biographies. Duplicate a complete profile group to add a person, keeping text lengths reasonably similar. Image blocks retain their chosen aspect ratio when you replace the source.

## Included images

The portraits are generated examples and depict nobody real. Their public image URLs travel with the copied markup. Choose **Replace** to use your own people. Pasting a URL does not import a Media Library attachment. See [image credits](/image-credits/).

## Dark and Section colours

The default **Dark** design is used in the library thumbnail and on first opening. Its inverted background and text remain paired, so Inherit section is intentionally unavailable in this version. These are theme colour chains, not hardcoded colours.

Select **Section colours**, then **Colour → Inherit section**, to remove the named background and text colours and use those of the surrounding section. Structural rules use `currentColor` in this variant and follow the inherited ink.
