Testimonial cover quote, Pattern Paste Canonical: https://patternpaste.com/pattern/testimonial-cover-quote.html Library (https://patternpaste.com/patterns/) Testimonials (https://patternpaste.com/patterns/testimonials/) Catalogue access Standard # Testimonial cover quote A full-bleed cover where one client quotation is set at display size across the whole photograph, under a heavy veil of your theme's contrast colour, with the name and role on a small paper plate in the lower right corner. Includes a replaceable example photograph. States no colour and no font of its own. Ships with a short hand-off row on your theme's paper below it, so the cover reads as a section and not the page. The signature moment ## The quote is the size of the photograph Most testimonials put a photograph beside the words. Here the words are the picture: the quotation runs from 40px to 128px at 1.04 line-height and fills the cover's measure edge to edge, so the photograph shows only between and around the letters. The attribution does not sit centred under it; it is a small, dense plate pinned to the corner, the quiet end of a scale collision. Theme handoff ## What comes from where ### Theme and pattern Inherits: every colour (veil and plate contrast and base, the plate via role-plate and role-plate-text where our theme tool defines them), the typeface, the spacing scale. Decides: the veil's opacity, the display size, the 44rem minimum height (rem, never vh), the 1400px measure, and the plate's corner. The cover states its own text colour so core's white default never applies. Design rationaleComposition, intent and nearest alternatives ### Overview A full-bleed core/cover given over to one sentence from one client. The quotation is set at display size across the whole photograph, under a heavy veil of your theme's contrast colour, and the name and role sit apart from it on a small plate in the lower right corner. ### The signature moment: the quote is the size of the photograph Most testimonials put a photograph beside the words. Make it yoursVariations and the edits to make first ### Variations - Paper veil: the veil is base at 80% and the quote contrast; the plate inverts to a contrast ground with base text. - Plate left: the quote hangs from the right on a 66rem measure and the plate moves to the lower left corner, so the words and the name pull against each other across the photograph. Theme behaviourInheritance, fixed decisions and contrast ### What it inherits, what it decides Inherits: every colour (veil and plate contrast and base, the plate via role-plate and role-plate-text where our theme tool defines them), the typeface, the spacing scale. Decides: the veil's opacity, the display size, the 44rem minimum height (rem, never vh), the 1400px measure, and the plate's corner. The cover states its own text colour so core's white default never applies. Technical notesBlock mechanics, responsive behaviour and constraints ### Type The quotation is display type, deliberately off the theme's ladder: a bare clamp(2.5rem, 6.6vw, 8rem), because its size IS the composition. It is a paragraph, not a heading, so the page outline stays yours. The name takes medium (chain then clamp); the role states its own clamp() with a 15px floor. The typeface is always your theme's. ### Why type on a photograph is permitted here A cover's veil is the one knowable ground over an image: contrast at dimRatio 80 under base type, measured against a white and a black photograph, the worse of the two has to pass (large display type, 3:1; the plate text, 4.5:1 against the plate itself). Lower the veil below 80 and that stops being true. The plate is a base ground with contrast text, judged on the plate, not on the photograph. ### What a buyer changes first The quotation, then the name and role, then the photograph (select the cover and choose Replace). Keep the quote under about fifteen words: at 390 it runs to six or seven lines, and that is the ceiling. ### The hand-off row A full-bleed cover fills the preview edge to edge, and on a buyer's page it is never alone. So the pattern ships with a short row on your theme's paper under it, a tracked label and one paragraph at a 34rem measure, identical in every variation. It shows where the cover ends and is the first thing a buyer rewrites or deletes. ### Included images The copied markup includes a WordPress Photo Directory example photograph. The public image URL keeps the example visible after pasting. Select the cover and choose Replace to use your own Media Library file. See image credits (https://patternpaste.com/image-credits/) for the source and license. Pasting an image URL does not import a Media Library attachment. 6.9KB of core-block markup, 3 blocks (cover, group, paragraph), and nothing else: paste it into the block editor and it becomes editable blocks wearing your theme. The signature is the margin: the image is a window cut in the page rather than a band across it, and the paper around it is what you notice. A small opaque plate in the picture's bottom-right corner carries the caption, so no type ever sits on the photograph. The still-image version includes an example photograph; select your own clip for the video version. States no colour and no font of its own. (https://patternpaste.com/pattern/hero-aperture.html)Stats Stat callout A high-impact framed spotlight plaque: a central marquee figure and bold executive statement sit above a ruled three-part corroboration shelf enclosed within the same 1px currentColor architectural frame. States no colour and no font of its own. (https://patternpaste.com/pattern/stat-callout.html)Pricing Pricing cover menu A screen-height cover with three plans set on it like a restaurant menu: a heavy veil of your theme's contrast colour over the photograph, a display headline in the lower left and a narrow ruled price list in the right-hand column, each plan a name and its price on one line and a sentence beneath, hairline rules between, one button under the list. The list drops beneath the headline on a phone. Includes a replaceable example photograph and placeholder prices. States no colour and no font of its own. Ships with a short hand-off row on your theme's paper below it. (https://patternpaste.com/pattern/pricing-cover-menu.html) #### Before you paste Requires a block theme on WordPress 6.7 to 7.0. Classic themes and page builders are outside our supported setup. Adaptive patterns use the block theme’s colour, spacing and typography presets; styled variations declare their own colours or type. How we test patterns (https://patternpaste.com/how-we-test/) Sample images stay in the copied blocks. Replace them in WordPress; pasting does not upload them to your Media Library. Video variations need your own clip.
