I climbed my first oak at nineteen and never really came down.
I have been climbing since 2009, first for a highways contractor and then for anyone around Stroud with a tree too big for a ladder.
In 2014 I rented a unit at Brimscombe Port and painted Bough on a second-hand chipper. There are five of us now: three climbers, a groundsman and Jess in the office, and most of our work still comes from Painswick, Bisley and Nailsworth.
Every tree gets looked at from the ground first, and we would sooner leave one standing than take it down for the sake of a job.
Every climber is NPTC-qualified, we carry £5m public liability, and every log and branch leaves your garden with us.
