The ceremony is at two under the oak beams, with the great doors thrown open to the lane and the fields beyond.

02 / The breakfast

Long tables, set for everyone.

One sitting for up to a hundred and twenty, with gold chargers, posies from the garden and the speeches kept short.

03 / The send-off

Out into the confetti.

Paper petals only, please. We sweep the yard at midnight, and the last taxis leave from the gate at half past.
