Q 01 / Travel
Anywhere in the UK. Inside 50 miles of Bristol it is in the day rate; past that I charge travel at cost and a night’s stay if the light means an early start.
Q 02 / Usage
You get a licence for your own marketing, web and print, for as long as you like. Selling the pictures on, or handing them to a brand you supply, is a wider licence we agree in writing first.
Q 03 / Retouching
Cleaning, levelling and colour on every delivered frame. Taking out a car, a crane or a building site is separate, and my retoucher prices it before anyone starts.
Q 04 / Deposit
A 50% deposit holds it; the rest is due when the files arrive. Dates hold for a week while you think, then go back in the diary.
Q 05 / Weather
Interiors go ahead in almost anything. For facades we watch the forecast together and move the day, never the price, as often as it takes.
Q 06 / Design
Yes, and it is the better way round: I shoot for the layout I have in mind. A book or brochure starts at £2,400 and goes to press at Pressworks, St Philips.
