The signature moment
The criteria run down the seam between the choices
Each ruled row holds a repair answer, its central criterion and a new-commission answer. The narrow painted spine runs through the full row sequence. On a phone each row remains a single bounded unit, with explicit Repair and Make new labels so the association survives stacking.

Overview
Repair and commission choices share a narrow central criteria spine, so each row compares the same question before moving on.

Theme behaviourInheritance, fixed decisions and contrast
Display type
The introduction follows the theme’s heading ladder. The criterion and option labels are bold 15px paragraphs, while each answer uses the medium body rung.
Technical notesBlock mechanics, responsive behaviour and constraints
Theme inheritance
The Core payload follows the theme’s base ground, contrast ink, heading face and button treatment. Its painter lets heading and link colour follow a recolour. Text is intended for 4.5:1 contrast, with 3:1 reserved for large display type.
Styled look
Rosewater #F7E8EA, deep plum #322332 and aubergine #653D63, with Georgia headings and Arial text. The aubergine criteria spine links every row. Every action is deliberately filled or underlined. The Core payload preserves the same layout as the theme route.
Editing
Edit each matched row as a unit: left answer, centre criterion, right answer. Keep the option labels beside their answers for phone readers. The balanced closing recommendation is ordinary text.
Questions
Comparison shared spine: common questions
Does Comparison shared spine need a plugin?
No. It is built only from core WordPress blocks (button, buttons, column, columns, group, heading and paragraph), so it pastes into the block editor with nothing to install.
Will Comparison shared spine match my theme?
Choose by variation. Theme takes your theme’s palette; Rosewater and aubergine brings its own colours.
How many variations does Comparison shared spine have?
2: Theme and Rosewater and aubergine. Each is its own markup; choose one in the toolbar above the preview before you copy.
Is Comparison shared spine free?
It is included with a subscription, with every Core Pattern and variation. 62 Core Patterns are free to copy without one.
Which WordPress version does it need?
Requires a block theme on WordPress 7.0 to 7.1. Classic themes and page builders are outside our supported setup. Adaptive patterns use the block theme’s colour, spacing and typography presets; styled variations declare their own colours or type.
The markup
Core block markup and nothing else. Copy it, then paste it straight into the block editor: WordPress reads the delimiters and rebuilds the blocks.
