Emergency triage list

An emergency page for a plumber, an electrician or a heating engineer: the reader has water through the ceiling or a scorched socket and wants to know, in one scan, whether to ring now. It sits in the FAQ section beside faq-index (numbered questions with open answers) and conditions-head-to-foot (a clinic's index by body part), and closes on the call like a CTA.

Seven ruled rows sorted by urgency, each three columns: the problem as a card title, what to do now in one or two plain instructions, and a verdict tag at the right. A legend in the header names the three verdicts in words, so the tag never carries its meaning by colour or shape alone. On a phone each row stacks: problem, instruction, verdict.

1. The problems and the instructions. Keep each instruction short enough to follow with wet hands.
2. The two phone numbers in the legend (07700 900 247 and 0115 496 0247 are reserved example numbers).
3. The gas row. 0800 111 999 is the real National Gas Emergency number for Great Britain; keep it, or put your own country's gas line in.

• Typeface. The base states no font family.
• Palette. Your page ground and text. Labels take the label role and rules the rule role, both falling to your contrast colour.
• The verdicts. Ring now is a filled tag in your contrast with base text; Ring them, then us a 2px solid outline; Book it a 2px dashed outline.

• Sizes. The heading is on your x-large rung and each problem on large; the instructions take medium.
• The rows. core/columns at 30, 44 and 26 percent, stacking below 782px as WordPress's columns do.
