The signature moment
The destination board gives the links the largest type
The wordmark sits in the corner above the main route. Large destination names carry the visual weight, while a fine lower rail holds the place and opening note. The real Navigation block collapses into a visible Menu control beside the next-stop note, opening WordPress’s mobile overlay.

Overview
A compact wordmark and broad destination links turn the header into a typographic signboard, with a separate address and opening-hours rail.

Theme behaviourInheritance, fixed decisions and contrast
Display type
Navigation links use a bold fluid display scale of 28px to 66px. The linked wordmark is a 20px text-link button with a padded tap target; location and opening notes are 15px. These wordmark, paragraph and navigation sizes form the signboard rather than heading hierarchy.
Technical notesBlock mechanics, responsive behaviour and constraints
Theme inheritance
The Core payload follows the theme’s base ground, contrast ink, heading face and button treatment. Its painter lets heading and link colour follow a recolour. Text is intended for 4.5:1 contrast, with 3:1 reserved for large display type.
Styled look
Citron #ECECA5 with graphite #202824 and a grey-green #414747 rail, set in Arial with bold destination lettering. Every action is deliberately filled or underlined. The Core payload preserves the same layout as the theme route.
Editing
Replace the linked wordmark, edit the native Navigation destinations and update the two practical notes. Keep destination names short enough to read as signs.
Questions
Header station board: common questions
Does Header station board need a plugin?
No. It is built only from core WordPress blocks (button, buttons, group, navigation, navigation-link and paragraph), so it pastes into the block editor with nothing to install.
Will Header station board match my theme?
Choose by variation. Theme takes your theme’s palette; Citron and graphite brings its own colours.
How many variations does Header station board have?
2: Theme and Citron and graphite. Each is its own markup; choose one in the toolbar above the preview before you copy.
Is Header station board free?
It is included with a subscription, with every Core Pattern and variation. 62 Core Patterns are free to copy without one.
Which WordPress version does it need?
Requires a block theme on WordPress 7.0 to 7.1. Classic themes and page builders are outside our supported setup. Adaptive patterns use the block theme’s colour, spacing and typography presets; styled variations declare their own colours or type.
The markup
Core block markup and nothing else. Copy it, then paste it straight into the block editor: WordPress reads the delimiters and rebuilds the blocks.
